Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and The Grid ("we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you will comply with all applicable laws, including local traffic and vehicle laws.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@gridmeets.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Community standards

The Grid is for the car enthusiast community. You agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, harassing, threatening, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
• Promote or organize street racing, reckless driving, or other dangerous illegal activities.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Spam, scrape, or abuse the Service or its users.
• Circumvent rate limits, quotas, or technical protections.
• Upload content you don't have the right to share, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property.

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or ban users who violate these standards, at our sole discretion.

4. Events

The Grid provides a platform for discovering and organizing events. We do not host, sponsor, or endorse any event listed on the platform. Event organizers are solely responsible for their events, including compliance with local laws, obtaining permits, and attendee safety. Attend events at your own risk.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your content as needed to operate the Service. This license ends when you delete the content, except that we may retain copies for backup, legal, or safety purposes.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this license, and that your content does not violate any law or third-party rights.

6. Payments & boosts

Event boosts. The free tier includes a limited number of event posts per calendar month. You may purchase an "event boost" for $4.99 (USD) to post one additional event beyond your free quota. Boosts are a one-time purchase, non-recurring, and apply to a single event.

Processing. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Refunds. Boost purchases are generally non-refundable once the event has been posted. For issues, email support@gridmeets.com within 7 days of purchase and we will review on a case-by-case basis. You may also have statutory refund rights under your local consumer protection laws, which these Terms do not limit.

No guarantees. A boost unlocks the ability to post an event; we do not guarantee attendance, visibility, or any particular outcome.

7. Subscriptions (future)

We may offer recurring "Supporter" subscriptions in the future. When we do, the specific price, renewal terms, and cancellation instructions will be disclosed at the point of purchase. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by those stores' billing rules — cancel through your device's subscription settings.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, logos, and software (excluding user content), is owned by The Grid and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the Service without our written permission.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, create risk for the Service or other users, or for other legitimate business reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability) will survive.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE GRID AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Grid from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Louisiana for any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service, except where prohibited by applicable law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
